What is Greymark?
Greymark is an anonymous platform for sharing paranormal, unexplained, and personal experiences. No one else can see who you really are — only your Observer handle.
Are all the stories real?
A small number of stories are marked with a "Sample Story" tag. These were written by our team to demonstrate what the platform looks like when it has content, and are not real user submissions. Every other story — anything without that tag — was submitted by an actual Greymark user.
Do you know who I really am?
No. We don't collect your real name, phone number, or any government ID. Your account is identified only by your Observer handle (e.g. Observer-0001) and a password. An email address is optional and only used for account recovery, if you choose to add one.
What happens if I forget my handle or password?
If you added a recovery email, you can reset your password using it. If you didn't, we have no way to verify your identity and cannot recover your account — this is the tradeoff for staying fully anonymous. Please save your handle and password somewhere safe.
What can't I post?
Illegal content, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, harassment, doxxing, spam, or content that requests private contact with other users. All posts pass through automated screening before publishing, and can also be reported by other users afterward. See our Terms of Service for the full list.
What's included in Member?
Free accounts can post and browse with a 200-character limit and one tag per story. Member ($2.99/month) removes the character limit entirely, adds unlimited tags, bookmarking, photo uploads (up to 3 per story), a member badge, and the ability to edit your own published stories and comments. Check the Membership page in Settings for full details.
How do I report something?
Open the story or comment and tap the report icon. Reports are reviewed by our team, and content that violates our guidelines is removed.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — go to Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
Can I message other users privately?
No. Greymark has no private messaging feature, by design. Anyone who asks you to contact them privately outside the platform is not a legitimate part of the community — please report them.
What does "Add to Home Screen" do?
Greymark isn't downloaded from an app store — it runs directly from your browser. "Add to Home Screen" creates a shortcut icon on your device that opens Greymark in a clean, full-screen window, without the browser's address bar, so it feels like a regular app. No installation file, no app store account needed.
Do I need to re-download the app every time it's updated?
No. Once you've added Greymark to your home screen, updates happen automatically in the background the next time you open the app. If a new version is ready, you'll briefly see a banner at the top of the screen with a "Refresh now" button — tap it, and you're on the latest version. You never need to delete and re-add the icon for a normal update.
